Devon Hospice gains from a fitness regime

Ivybridge Leisure Centre members and their guests have taken part in back-to-back fitness classes to raise funds for local charity St Luke's Hospice.

St Luke's cares for more than 2,000 patients with life-limiting or terminal illnesses each year, either in the Hospice as an inpatient, a day patient or through the Community Palliative Care Team, who care for patients in their own homes.

The picture shows Tone Leisure Centre member Olga Wenham-Baker, who alone raised £150, handing over a cheque for £185 to Sue MacCallum of St Luke's.

Nigel Whitmore, centre manager, said: 'It was a great event with many local people participating in aid of this good cause. 'We were delighted to work with St Luke's Hospice and look forward to doing so again in the future'.

 Pennywell Farm visit

Apart from educational projects such as the Pennywell Farm visit which are environmentally led, St Luke's Hospice is close to Olga's heart, showing the importance of caring in the local community.
